2008 Summer Calendar

This page will change often, please visit regularly to see changes to our summer schedule. We will be offering more kayak training classes and American Canoe Association classes, levels 1 through 5.

  • 1st. - Barnegat Bay paddling trip for the Wilmington Trial Club. Island Beach State Park, NJ.

  • 7th - Control your kayak class for the Wilmington Trail Club members only. Lums Pond State Park. 9:00am - 12:00pm. Free for WTC members.

  • 7th - Kayak Basics, 3 hour class from 1:30am - 4:30pm. $55
  • 11th  Wednesday evening! - Basic Paddling. 1 1/2 hour class at Lums Pond from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. $25
  • 14th - Beyond the Basics, 3 hour class from 9:00am - 12:00pm. $55
  • 14th - Rescue Basics, 3 hour class from 1:30pm - 4:30pm. $55

  • 15th - Rescue class for the Wilmington Trail Club, members only at Lums Pond State Park. 1:00pm - 4:00pm - Free for WTC members.

  • 18th  Wednesday evening! - Basic Paddling. 1 1/2 hour class at Lums Pond from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. $25
  • 25th  Wednesday evening! - Basic Paddling. 1 1/2 hour class at Lums Pond from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. $25
  • 28th - Beyond the Basics, 3 hour class from 9:00am - 12:00pm. $55

  • 16th  Wednesday evening! - Basic Paddling. 1 1/2 hour class at Lums Pond from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. $25

  • 19th - Rescue Basics, 3 hour class from 9:00am - 12:00pm. $55

  • 19th - Kayak Basics, 3 hour class from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. $55

  • 20th - Beyond the Basics, 3 hour course from 9:am - 12:00pm $55

  • 25th  Wednesday evening! - Basic Paddling. 1 1/2 hour class at Lums Pond from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. $25
  • 26th - Barnegat Light trip in conjunction with New Jersey Kayak. $95 Kayak with Outreach Adventure and New Jersey Kayak as we explore the
    Barnegat Bay area in and around the historic Barnegat Lighthouse. The changing tides running through the Barnegat inlet will provide a fun moving water experience (no, we will not be going through the inlet). If there's time we will stop at the historic Viking Village, a working fishing village. To this day, Viking Village is of the largest suppliers of seafood on the eastern seaboard. The Home to the fishing vessel "Lindsay L", which portrayed the "Hanna Bodan" in the movie “The Perfect Storm". During our stop, take some time to browse the fishing shacks that have been transformed into specialty stores. Also, don't forget to stop at the Village Brew for a gourmet coffee, espresso, fruit smoothie, pastry and of course a scoop or two of Edy-s ice-cream. 
     

This fun and exciting trip will require a true Sea kayak. Recreational kayaks are not designed for this type of paddling. Sea kayaks, paddles and PFD's
will be provided if needed.

  • 5th - 7th - Jane's Island State Park paddling trip for the Wilmington Trail Club. We will be staying at Jane's Island State Park campground near Crisfield.
